Dear Reader

Hello!
Glad you stopped by because I'd like to share some news with you. Though I've been fortunate to sell romantic suspense novels, and romance, mystery and science fiction short stories, I'm excited to be writing a cozy mystery series now. The Schnitzel Haus Mysteries are set in the Pennsylvania Wilds in a fictitious town with a freaky-but-fun name, based on the area's famous, 700-strong elk herd.  Let me tell you about the residents of Bugling Bulls.

The first book, Kuchen Up a Killing, debuts on most e-readers in late January of 2017, and features a protagonist who's had her share of occupations and troubles. Caitlyn Cross-Rhodes is an ex Manhattan model. . . turned book editor. . .turned Bavarian restaurant owner. She's a mother, a grandmother, and a stanch environmentalist. When her friend, rural mail carrier, Carter McCoy is found dead in the blackberry patch behind The Schnitzel Haus, she becomes an amateur sleuth. She knows she's not cut out for the job. But who else is going to clear the local witch of Carter's murder if Cait doesn't do it? Thank goodness for the Nosy Blue Haired Ladies Card Club. They're always glad to help.

The second  book, From Bad to Wurst, follows in early March of 2017, and once again, Cait finds herself embroiled in an investigation. Her grandmother's wealthy best friend has been murdered, and steamy-romance-writer Nana Madelyn wants Cait to look into it. Chief of Police Harvey Pleasance--Bugling Bulls' grumpy "Georgia Peach"--thinks Cait should stick to kaffeekuchen and weiner schnitzel. But how can she when Nana's so upset?

Ah, the Pennsylvania Wilds. I love it here!

 Happy Reading,

Lauren
